Unified Wavelet Transform Analysis Adapted to Different Biomedical Applications

In biomedical signal processing, wavelet transform has gained an edge over other existing methods due to its highly efficient transforming capabilities. Relative wavelet energy is a technique used to extract meaningful and concise information from wavelet coefficients for signal classification. The possibility of classifying large datasets combined with the simplicity of the process makes this ...

On the Discrete Harmonic Wavelet Transform

The discrete harmonic wavelet transform was developed by Newland in 1993 1, 2 . Similar to the ordinary discrete wavelet transform, the classical harmonic wavelet transform can also perform multiresolution analysis of a function. In addition, it has a fast algorithm based on fast Fourier transform for numerical implementation. A distinct advantage of harmonic wavelets is that they are disjoint ...

from linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar

chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...

A Unified Vector Space Approach to Teaching the Fourier Transform

This paper is concerned with the approach to teaching an introductory course on Fourier theory for engineers. Commonly called Signals and Systems (or some variation), this course generally introduces four transforms: the Fourier Transform, the Fourier Series, the Discrete-Time Fourier Transform (DTFT), and the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). Our concern is that the method and order of topic p...
